Curated by the Symphony’s Principal Tubist James Jenkins, this program spotlights hits from the biggest big bands to iconic composers like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Thad Jones and Woody Herman. With Latin jazz flavors, intimate group performances and even references to classical pieces like Herman’s take on Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, this concert is guaranteed to warm your soul with an infusion of invigorating jazz.
